Food and wine are Paola and Stefano’s great passions. Stefano, a professional sommelier, will guide you on the discovery of local wine producers, winemakers who are passionate about their work. He will also suggest the best food and wine parings for your meals. Paola, the chef, always uses fresh, genuine ingredients, which are carefully selected from small local producers who respect and love of their territory, thus giving rise to a simple cuisine with unmistakable flavors and aromas.

BREAKFAST

Breakfast is an important moment for us which allows our guests to start their day leisurely and full of energy. You will be greeted by a rich buffet of homemade cookies and cakes, savoury and sweet croissants, fragrant bread, fresh milk and yogurt, muesli and a vast assortment of seeds. Guests will also be offered eggs prepared on the spot, local cheeses and cold cuts, salmon, fresh fruits and vegetables, juices and healthy smoothies. Our jams are artisanal, made exclusively with organic fruit. In addition to espressos, American coffee, cappuccinos and a number of other hot beverages, we also offer our guests a rich selection of prestigious Damman teas. Breakfast is served from 8:30 – 10:00 am in the internal dining area or on the panoramic terrace.

FOOD EXPERIENCE

THE CUISINE

Our kitchen reinterprets the Umbrian, Piedmont and Mediterranean culinary tradition, using fresh, premium quality raw materials purchased daily. Our suppliers are small producers we have carefully selected over the years. From this desire to offer only fresh products comes our decision to offer a 4-course menu that changes every day and is based on seasonality and market availability. Dinner is served daily at 8 pm for all guests and is preceded by an aperitif with local specialties. A pleasant moment for guests to meet and greet, exchange experiences and forge new friendships. During the summer, for those who want to take advantage to relax in the pool, we offer a lunch buffet at 13.00 with salads, cheeses and local cold cuts. Both dinner and lunch are by reservation. On request, we are happy to prepare vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free meals for those with food intolerances or allergies.

THE WINE CELLAR

Palazzetta del Vescovo offers its guests a wide selection of wines to pair with the dishes served in the restaurant. There are currently around 130 labels, covering the most important wine producing areas in Italy. Of course, the largest space is dedicated to Umbrian producers and the most famous wines and varieties in the region such as Montefalco Sagrantino, Orvieto Classico, Grechetto, Trebbiano Spoletino. The wineries included in our wine list have all been hand-picked by Stefano. Often, these are small producers who make high quality wines which would otherwise be difficult to discover. The wines await tasting in the large underground cellar which guarantees optimal preservation conditions.

Our garden was born out of Paola and Stefano’s love of organic and seasonal foods. The garden is put in whenever Mother Nature deems it and is treated exclusively with organic fertilisers. Seasonal tomatoes, aubergines, green beans, courgettes, salads and many other vegetables, cultivated with love and care by our gardener, enrich our table every day and are used as ingredients in our cooking, ensuring freshness and quality of our dishes.

A SWEET REFRESHMENT

THE BAR

At the Palazzetta del Vescovo, we like to maintain the informal atmosphere of home which is why we haven’t created an actual bar. Nevertheless, we will be happy to serve cocktails and wines from our list in a relaxing atmosphere on the panoramic terrace or by the pool. After dinner, grappa, limoncello or a bitter is a must.
